The Irish Sailing League
The Irish Sailing League launched in December 2022 with the aim of concentrated inter-club racing which is hugely successful in other parts of Europe and across North America. Competitors represent their club in a series of short sprint races against teams from other clubs in a series of weekend events. Teams will battle it out to become the Irish Sailing League Champions and give a club the right to declare it is the best sailing club in the country.
The Champion club will have the opportunity to represent their country at the Sailing Champions League held annually battling against the best sailing clubs from other nations such as the United Kingdom, Italy, France etc.

This style of racing breaks down the many barriers to keelboat sailing as the boats are provided at the event locations by the Irish Sailing League. The boats provided are the exciting new RS 21 Keelboats which are crewed by teams of 4 sailors. For more information about the RS 21, click here!

For the 2024 series, th Irish Sailing League will be using J80 keelboats.

The Irish Sailing League is fully affiliated with the International Sailing League Association

Look at what we do...
The Sailing Champions League
It’s a straightforward format that has been working well in football for years; now we have clear proof that it also works for sailing: An international club competition generating high levels of media interest and a competition that clubs, sailors and fans can all identify with.

The idea behind SAILING Champions League is simple: it’s the championship of the national champions. The most successful clubs of the National Sailing League countries are competing against each other to fight for the title: “Best Sailing Club of the Year”.
